Rev. Alexander Weaver, 91

Reverend Alexander “Bud” Weaver, age 91, was born on December 29, 1929 and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 1st, 2021 at his home in Greenville, North Carolina. He was a native of Edgecombe County/Pitt county, North Carolina. Affectionately known as "Bud" by his family and friends he had a personality that was always inviting displaying warmth and concern for others. Reverend Weaver received his education in the Edgecombe County School Public schools. Served on the Pitt County Board of Education He started his own company, Weaver Construction in 1958. Reverend Weaver accepted Christ and was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Conetoe Baptist Church. He served diligently in any aspect of the church where his assistance was needed particularly the men's ministry. In his spare time Reverend Weaver liked to read, fish and hunt and westerns, build things.

Reverend Weaver was preceded in death by his parents Rosa Lee Carney Weaver and Edward Weaver, 3 siblings Edward Jr. Weaver, Alphonza Weaver and Robert Weaver and 2 children, Bobby E Weaver (1994) and Rosa M. Joyner (2001).

Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Verna Marie Ebron Weaver. Four daughters Shelia Loren Weaver Jennings (Tommy), Genien Marie Weaver Cherry (Ronald), Toni Andrea Weaver Jennings (Ishmeal) and Tomika Leshay Weaver Howard and 4 sons James Alex Weaver (Michelle), Derrick Gene Weaver, Carlton Earl Weaver and Dexter Edward Weaver (Tonisha). He also leaves to cherish his memory, very special sons Van Tracey Manning (Stephanie) and Willie Lee Morning and Little Johnny Moore (Terri). He also leaves Brandon Weaver and Jenora Crandall, grandchildren that he raised as his own children. Reverend Weaver leaves 47 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 15 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close family and friends.

From his previous marriage to Isabelle Pettaway Weaver, Reverend Weaver has two surviving children, Christie Melton and Catherine Anderson.

Reverend Weaver also leaves to cherish in his memory, 5 siblings, David Weaver (Pauline) of Fredericksburg, MD, Shirley Hunter (Andrew) and Clayton Weaver (Martha) both of Greenville, Johnnie Moore (Shirley) Bethel, NC and Dora Stancil of Vanceboro, NC.

There will be a viewing on Friday April 9th, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.m at Holly Hill FWB Church, 4212 Porter Rd, Greenville, NC 27834. Funeral Service for Reverend Weaver will be on Saturday April 10th, 2021 at Conetoe Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 200 S Railroad St, Conetoe, NC 27819 at 12:00p.m.

Everyone attending either service is required to wear masks and observe the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines and protocols that are already established. Please help us keep each other safe.
