Obituary
Queen Elizabeth Parker was born on April 26, 1952 in Edgecombe County. Queen was born to the late Douglas Highsmith and Queen Esther Dancy. Queen gained her wings and transitioned from this life on August 2, 2021 at 2:55 pm in Vidant Edgecombe Hospital.
Queen attended Newton High School in Queens, New York. Queen resided in the Edgecombe County area in which she worked for 37 years at General Foams formally Carolina Enterprise in Tarboro NC. She really enjoyed her family and any family gathering. She always kept a big smile on her face. She didn’t ever meet a stranger. Queen would greet you with a smile and a warming hug. She enjoyed dancing while listening to DJ Star Child on Sundays. She enjoyed life on this earth.
She precedes in death: father Douglas Highsmith, two sisters Carolyn Highsmith Leary, and Mazie Highsmith. One brother Billy Jean Hussey.
She leaves here on earth her family and friends whom she loves dearly. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Cherrise Hussey of Tarboro NC and Christy Parker of Rocky Mount NC, step-son Amos Parker Jr. of Macclesfield NC, her grandchildren: Quadorrin Hussey of Virgina Beach, VA, Shy’Keem Hussey of Chesapeake, VA and Kemarion Davis of Rocky Mount, NC, her mother Queen Dancy (James Henry Dancy) of Tarboro NC, sisters Bettie Collins (AJ Collins) of Fort Washington Maryland, Sally Tillery (William Tillery) of Virginia Beach VA, Margaret Highsmith of Pinetops NC, Diane Johnson of Massachusetts, Yvette Highsmith of Connecticut, and one brother, Douglas Highsmith Jr. (Jennifer Highsmith) of Connecticut, a long-term special panther Clarance Hansome of the home, a God-daughter Brenatta Edwards of Pinetops NC, and a special God-sister Lisa Barnes.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God 2Corinthians 1:3
Funeral service for Ms. Queen Elizabeth Parker will be on Saturday Aug 14th,2021 at 2:00p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Association Center located at 3033 Bynum Farm Rd, Pinetops, NC 27864. Funeral service will be officiated by Elder Donnie Atkinson.
There will be a public viewing an hour prior to the funeral service.
