Ms.Ellon Marie Brown Cox,84

Ellon Marie Cox daughter of the late Nebah and Mary Francis Mitchell Brown, was born October 4, 1937 in Craven County, North Carolina. She was called to eternal rest on September 4, 2022 in Cove City, North Carolina.

She attended Newbold High School in Fort Barnwell, North Carolina. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mount Mariah Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Ellon and Benjamin Frankle Cox, Jr. were united in holy matrimony in Cove City, North Carolina, where they built a home and raised their family. Ellon worked and retired from Craven County hospital after thirty years. After retirement, she stayed at home for some time. Ellon decided to pursue another career as a CNA where she worked at Charles MacDonald Rest Home where she loved taking care of the elderly. She later retired to stay home to take care of her husband, Benjamin Frankle Cox, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Frankle Cox, Jr. and one son, Dennis Earl Cox.

Ellon leaves to cherish her memory three children, Kelee J. Yates, Pormlee Curtis Cox (Tanisa) all of New Bern, North Carolina; Paula and one grateful son-in-law, George Dix of the home; daughter-in-law, Mae Cox of New Bern, North Carolina; her dog, Bad Boy; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren,five great-great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law;one God daughter, Juanita Powell of New Bern, North Carolina; grateful Godfather and Godmother, Dewey and Shirley Moore Stokes of Pamlico, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday September 9th, 2022 at Mount Mariah Missionary Baptist Church located 1228 Asbury Rd, Cove City N.C. 28523.

There will be a public viewing one hour prior to the service.
