Mollie Dell Barnes Mayo "Lett", 76

Mollie Dell Barnes Mayo (Lett) age 76, transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. She was born on December 18th,1946 in Pitt County, NC to the late Josh Reuben Barnes and Louester Thigpen Barnes. She was a member of Conetoe Missionary Baptist Church, she gave her life to Christ on July 15th, 2012. Mollie worked for Perdue for many years until she retired. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Louester and Reuben Barnes, husband Johnnie Mayo, one sister, Mary Frances Barnes, six brothers, William E. Barnes, John E. Barnes, James Earl Barnes, Joe Russell Barnes, Josh Ray Barnes, Matthew Barnes and one daughter, Shirley Barnes Knight. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Mitchell Jr. (Linda) of Tarboro, N.C., Ronald E. Mitchell (Shakena) of Conetoe, N.C.; three daughters Mary Mayo (Bill) of Macclesfield, N.C, Annie Andrews (David) of Tarboro, N.C, Roshanda Mayo (Devion) of Macclesfield, NC two brothers, Willie Barnes (Lou) and Bobby L. Barnes of Conetoe, N.C.; four sisters, Hanna B. Spruill (Herman) of Conetoe, N.C., Annie Farmer of Tarboro, N.C., Dorothy B. Parker (Amos) of Pinetops, N.C. and Doris F. Best(Kent) of Princeville, N.C , 18 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Three special friend Pat Worsley, Teresa Johnson, and Johnnie Mae Salisbury. She was an amazing woman who loved her family and loved to cook, she loved all the kids and all the kids loved going to “Grandma Lett’s House”. During her sick days, her grandson Kyron Mitchell was with her everyday caring for her. We will cherish the memories we’ve had with her here on earth, she’ll truly be missed.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday February 5th, 2023 at 2:00pm at Conetoe Chapel Missionary Baptist Church located at 200 S Railroad St. Conetoe NC 27819 there will be a public viewing from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

Rev. Joyner will be officiating.
