Roderick Michael Phillips, known to many as "Mike" was born on August 7, 1961 to Roderick and Nellie Phillips. Mike resided in Greenville, NC most of his life, but later moved to Philadelphia. Mike was educated through Pitt County Schools where he later graduated from J.H. Rose High School in 1980. After graduation he joined the United States Navy where he served our country for a period of time.

Mike was most recently employed at ABM Management at Amazon Plant in Pennsville, NJ. In 1984 Michael and Michelle were married and 4 children were added to this union. Mike was known to many for his fearless personality. Mike loved his kids and grandkids and would often travel to North Carolina to spend time with them, where you would often find him and his sons hanging out and debating. Mike enjoyed life and riding his motorcycle and was a true Baltimore Ravens fan. Mike was proceeded in death by his father Roderick Phillips and his mother Nellie Phillips.

Mike leave to cherish his memories his 6 children, Michael (Keona), Jemell (Polly), Jamika, Sharaya, Markeda, and Leasia. 12 grandchildren, and one sister, Carol Valentine Wilson, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a special friend Kristie Johnson.
