Minnie Louise Lancaster Porter was born on May 18, 1952, to the late Mary Lancaster and George Moore. After a brief period of care at Tarboro Health and Rehabilitation, she peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 4, 2025.
Minnie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary Lancaster Wooten and Charlie (Sam) Wooten; her father, George Moore; her sisters, Mae Frances and Janet (Rae) Lancaster; and her niece, Arlene Lancaster.
She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her husband, Roosevelt "June" Porter; her daughters, Pamela Rhodes (Raymond) and Melissa Barnes (Ray), both of Pinetops; and her treasured grandchildren: Julius and Darrell Porter, Iesha Thorne, Shyheim (Tamara) Ashford, and Seantae Ashford, all of Pinetops. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Minnie also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Mary Joe Morrison (John) of Farmington Hills, MI; Annette Hyman (Ruffin) of Severn, MD; and Nellie Rodgers (William) of Pinetops; her brothers, Leander Lancaster (Katie) of Pinetops; Benjamin Lancaster (Sonja) of Columbus, GA; John Melvin Wooten (Patricia) of Rocky Mount; William Thomas Wooten (Ada) of Tarboro; and Robert Earl Wooten (Peggy) of Pinetops.
She held dear to her heart her two bonus daughters, Carolyn Applewhite and Kim Cotton, along with several other beloved bonus daughters whose names are not individually listed but whose presence enriched her life.
Minnie's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit will never be forgotten.
