James Lee Adams was born on November 30, 1956, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to the late Allen and Barbara Adams. He peacefully answered God's call and entered eternal rest on July 14, 2026.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Barbara Adams; his brothers, David Adams and Johnny Adams; and his sister, Pat James.

James was a devoted husband, loving his wife faithfully for 34 wonderful years. He was a proud father, a loving Papa, a caring uncle, and a hardworking, respected man whose dedication was evident throughout his career with Freedom Industries. Known for his strong work ethic and kind heart, James earned the admiration and respect of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all, James cherished his family. He treasured every moment spent with those he loved and was always there for them. He was a loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a laugh. James never met a stranger; he cared deeply for people and had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

James was also known as an exceptional cook, preparing meals that brought family and friends together. His quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor filled every room with laughter, and his jokes will be remembered for years to come. His kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone whose life he touched.

James leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted wife, Susan Adams; his daughter, Ashley Brown (Robert Epps); his beloved granddaughters, Courtney Flower and Haley Brown; his sister, Bonnie Owens (Melvin); his nephews, Chris Owens, Jamie Owens, and Duke Owens; along with many other cherished family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

James will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the countless memories he created with family and friends.

A Time of Sharing

On Friday, July 17, 2026, family and friends are invited to come together to honor James by sharing memories, stories, and laughter in celebration of his life. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please. Susan and the family warmly welcome all who knew and loved James to join them in remembering the remarkable man he was.
