Herbert Hadley Corey was born April 10, 1961 in Ayden, North Carolina. Herbert departed this earthly life on January 2, 2024 at ECU Health Heart Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Due to early childhood illness Herbert was not able to attend High School.

Herbert has worked at multiple jobs, last was Mohawk in Greenville, North Carolina where he met most of his friends. Even though he had an illness he never stopped doing the things he loved.

Herbert was proceeded in death by his wife, Jessie Marie Daniels Corey; Mother, Lizzie Daniels; Father, James Elbert Corey, and Brother, Robert Elbert Corey.

Herbert leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Latoya Corey of Kinston, North Carolina, Katrina Corey of Greenville, North Carolina and Tori Lewis of Greenville, North Carolina; a close friend of the sister, Tyronica Barnhill; two sisters, Mary Hynes (David Johnson) of Texas and Nola Lynch (Melvin) of Greenville, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Corey of Grimesland, North Carolina; three brothers, Jonny Corey (Alice) and Jesse Ray Corey both of Greenville, North Carolina, and Elbert Corey (Cassandra) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial service will be conducted on Sunday 01/14/2024 at 1:00pm at Mitchell's Memorial Funeral Home Inc.
