Eric Lorenzo Battle

Eric Lorenzo Battle, also affectionately known as “Lil Boot,” was born May 3, 1981, in Greenville, North Carolina, along with his twin brother, to Mack Andrews and EvangelineBattle. He was called home to glory on June 19, 2026.

Eric was affectionately known to his family as being very quiet, but funny, and such a hard worker. He was previously employed by Cracker Barrel, Burger King, and worked alongside his dad for Greenville Housing Authority.

Eric completed his education at North Pitt High School.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Mack Andrews, his twin brother, Derrick Battle. Maternal grandparents, Mack and Lena Battle, and his paternal grandparents, William and Bertha Andrews.

Eric is survived by his mother, Evangeline Battle of Greenville, sister Demetrius Battle, Portia Morning, Robin Clark, brothers Terrence Andrews (Cheetora), and Adrian Andrews, all of Greenville, nephews Jaylen Gunter, Jamiyahs Gunter, Cortez Smith, Tyre Hammonds, Ta’Quan Hammonds, Corey Andrews, Umard Moore, nieces Shadasia Andrews, Taja Hammonds, Keosha Morning, all of Greenville. He had a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

Eric had a special love for animals. He leaves behind a doggy niece, Bella Battle, and a special cousin dog, Prince Battle, who brought him so much love and happiness.

Eric was well-known in the neighborhood for his willingness to help others. He shared a special relationship with his godmother, Joan Smith, and spent much of his time assisting her with whatever she needed. His caring nature and readiness to lend a helping hand made him a beloved presence in the community.

Eric also had a special friend in the neighborhood by the name of Mack Little. They used to hang out together—sitting in the car, talking, joking around, and just enjoying each other’s company. Their bond was true friendship.

Eric never met a stranger and was always willing to offer support to family, friends, and neighbors alike. His generosity and quiet acts of service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
