Dorothy Nell Best entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2024 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Smithfield , North Carolina.
She was the daughter of Annie Louise Hatch and James Lowe. Dorothy Nell Best was born in Pitt County, North Carolina. She went to D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, North Carolina. Later in life she attended Elizabeth City State University and Pitt Community College where she received an associate degree in Human Services.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Louise Hatch, James Lowe, adopted parents; Vera Best, Charlie Best and one brother Charles Best Jr.

Dorothy leaves to carry on her memories three sons; Jeremy Best(Renetta Best), Jonathan Best and Kenneth Best. 12 grandchildren. One sister Joan Perkins and 5 half-sisters. One special aunt Minnie Best of Greenville, N.C. and a host of nieces and nephews.
