Curtis Earl Hines was born on August 13, 1968 at Freedmen's Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. to the late Melvin and Carrie Hines.

He transitioned from his earthly life into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Curtis was employed and worked for East Coast Roofing for 20 years.

Curtis leaves to cherish his memories two sons: Curtisonte O'Shay Whitehurst of Greenville, NC and Kendrick Tyrell Earl Hines of Greensboro, NC; two grandsons Brylen O'Shay Whitehurst and Kadence Morrison; one brother Melvin McCoy (Shontell) Hines of Farmville, NC; Carrie Newton Harris of Greenville, NC, Teresa Newton of Greensboro, NC, Joyce Marie Hines of Greenville, NC, Carolyn HInes (Carl) Hendricks of Greenville, NC, and a very dear cousin/friend, whom had an unbreakable bond since their youth Christopher James Haddock of Farmville, NC; a longtime friend Quinton Cox, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded into eternity by parents Melvin and Carrie Hines; paternal grandparents Essix and Oral Bell Hines, maternal grandparents Bruce (Big Boy) and Betty Newton.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at 1:00pm at Mitchell's Memorial Fineral Home Inc. located at 1026 W. 5th St. Greenville N.C. 27834.

There will be a public viewing one hour prior to the service.
